GREAT TROUT CATCHING WEATHER!
Capt. Jody Donewar New Orleans / Empire / Buras, LA USA TROUT CATCHING WEATHER CONDITIONS THIS MORNING! We had the pleasure to guide long time regulars Leo Regan, Ron Lewis & Jim Donohue. The guys are from Baton Rouge, LA & fish with us several times every year. As a matter of fact Leo Regan has been fishing on my boat since I started guiding 18 years ago. We left out of Delta Marina in Empire , LA early this morning with the weather just perfect. The wind was light out the southeast. The tide was coming in from the near by Gulf of Mexico at a 1.6 ft. range. The water looked green and clear. The perfect recipe to smoke some Speckled Trout . We fished the oyster reefs and broken islands on the west side of the Mississippi River. Leo, Ron & Jim fished live shrimp under popping corks and I tight lined Matrix Shad Lemon Head soft plastic. It was "FISH ON!" every cast most of the morning. At 10:00 am we had 100 beautiful Speckled Trout on ice in the YETI as we headed back to Delta Marina.
