Captain Shane Thibodaux is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and lifelong outdoorsman from Thibodaux, Louisiana. Raised on the bayous and mentored by a family of hunters and fishermen, he developed a deep respect for the water early on. What started with solo runs in his 17-foot Sea Chaser chasing red snapper, mangrove snapper, and cobia evolved over the next 10 years into a calling to share the incredible resources of the Gulf with others. In 2025, that calling came to life with American Gulf Fishing Charters. Shane combines professionalism, preparation, and a love of adventure to deliver safe, unforgettable trips off Grand Isle and Port Fourchon. He is also a Certified Freediver who enjoys hunting oil rigs and shipwrecks for snapper and cobia with a speargun. On land, Shane is a 4th generation butcher and manager of Bourgeois Meat Market, his family's 135-year-old butcher shop in Thibodaux.
